Something is exciting about a new year, especially a year like this where we begin a brand new decade. It seems as if we get the opportunity to leave the old patterns behind that might no longer serve us. One of the most important lessons I have learned about New Year is that the only way to make room for a new adventure is by properly letting go of the things that we longer want to create space for. Reflecting back on the past year is as equally important as creating new intentions for the new year.
Reflect back on:
Things we loved
Things we defiantly didn't love
It is so important to not drag things onto the new year that no longer serves us. Truly leaving old things behind by purging, shedding and letting go. Tidying up our life will make space for all the new things to properly come in. By giving gratitude and acknowledging all the lessons that have been learned allows us to grow and truly become mindful of our daily life. December should truly become a time of reflection on all the things we are grateful for in life. While becoming honest with ourselves about what we are no longer satisfied with. Be willing to make a change to create a life that doesn’t just look good, but also feels good.
To help purge and reflect back to the year, make a list of :
All the things that we can be grateful for this year.
All the lessons that have been learned.
Habits we no longer want to repeat in the new year.
How far we have come.
How much strength has been gained.
What we can do to shift perspective in situations.
Things needed to be let go and surrendered.
Wrapping up our life in a year is like tidying up everything that the year has bought us. It lets us create an intentional life by cleaning up and acknowledging everything that we want to grow or let go of, to make space for all the things the new year will bring us.
I would love to know...
